SolidWorks has system settings for font sizes. Change the
SolidWorks default system settings to change the font size.
To change the font size in SolidWorks.
Click SolidWorks > Tools > Options > Document Properties
>
Annotation Font > Dimesnion / Font > Font size
It is advisable to create drawings, per the required
scale.
Also, change the system default font size before adding the
text by using MDTools commands, such as Show Machining ID
and Show Component ID.

MDTools creates views based on the current sheet properties.
Hence to create views in 1st angle projection,
change the properties of the sheet to 1st angle.
MDTools Create Views command automatically creates views,
per the current sheet properties.

No. You can only stretch a single drill using the Stretch Drill command.
|
However, you can follow these steps to match the drill depths.
|
- Stretch a single drill using the Stretch drill command.
- Run the Match Properties command.
- Pick the stretched drill as the source cavity and all the
other cavities that need to be stretched, as destination cavities.
- In the Properties menu, select Drill depth and click OK.
This will match the drill depths of all the destination
cavities to the source cavity.

This error appears only if you use same height and length when you draw the block.
The error is due a change in Solidworks behavior.
In SolidWorks 2008, if the Sketch Settings in the Automatic Relations option is selected, then the program automatically adds constraints to sketches even created using API.
In 2007 version, this option has no effect on sketches created using API.
|
To resolve this problem, deselect Sketch Settings in the Automatic Relations option.
|
- In SolidWorks 2008, manually switch off the following settings
to make MDTools function as expected.
- Click Tools > Sketch Settings > Automatic Relations
Deselect the option.
- Click Tools > Options > System Options > Input
dimension value
Uncheck the option.
- Solution :
- Click Tools > Sketch Settings > Automatic
Relations
Deselect the option.
- Click Tools > Options > System Options
> Input dimension value
Uncheck the option.
- Click MDTools 910 > Miscellaneous > Export
Manifold
to export the affected manifold.
- Create a new part.
- Click MDTools 910 > Miscellaneous > Import
Manifold
to import the exported manifold.
- Wait for a few minutes to import the entire
manifold..
- Save the imported manifold.
- Client should compare the imported manifold with the original
manifold because some of the miscellaneous features, such
as Undercut, Slot and O-ring Groove do not get exported.

MDTools requires a planar face to insert a cavity. Alternatively, to insert a cavity you need to create a planar face on the cylindrical manifold.
|
To model a cylindrical manifold with MDTools:
- Create a cylindrical extrude feature using Solidworks.
- Create a planar face for inserting a cavity:
- Create a work plane, which is tangent to the
point on the face where you want to place the cavity,
on the cylindrical face using Solidworks.
- Create a sketch on the newly created plane
and add a circle with diameter equal to10 mm.
- Create an extrude cut of 1 mm depth using the
newly created circle.
- Insert a cavity on the planar face created by extruding
the circle.
Note: Some of the commands, such as Move
Cavity or Connect to Cavity will not work properly with cylindrical
manifolds.
|
Orifice Plugs cannot be placed deep inside an MDTools cavity.
Manually insert the Orifice plug.
|
Machining ID is generated using Scheme 3, per VEST Standards.
|
MDTools creates views only for part models and not for assemblies. Use Solidworks Drawing Interface to create the assembled views.
|
To use Solidworks 2008 on a 64 bit machine, the 32bit version of Solidworks 2008 needs to be installed. After this MDTools 910 can be used.
